What happens when I get eliminated or murdered?

Being eliminated or murdered doesn’t mean it’s the end of the experience for you. You will still take part in all the challenges throughout the event to help the remaining players build the prize pot. If you are innocent, you will also take a spot on the ‘The jury of the dead’. The ‘Jury of the dead’ have a combined vote in all eliminations throughout the game and can influence outcomes to the very end.

What do I need to bring?

The main thing you need is a willingness to get stuck in, trust no one and fight to stay in the game. You also need to bring an internet enabled smartphone to participate in the secret conversations throughout the game. You also need to wear appropriate clothes for the weather as some challenges may involve going outside.

Welcome to Murder!

Murder! is a live game built on lies, teamwork, and trust.Your goal is simple: make it to the end of the game alive. If you do, you’ll have a chance to win the grand prize. However, not everyone will be playing on the same team.At the start of the game, a small number of players will be secretly chosen as Traitors. These Traitors will work together in secret, carefully manipulating the rest of the group. At certain points in the game, the Traitors will choose one player to murder. Once a player is murdered, they are eliminated from the game and can no longer win the prize. The remaining players are Innocents. Their goal is to work out who the Traitors are and remove them from the game before it’s too late. After each murder, players will have time to discuss what’s happened and then vote on who they believe a Traitor is. The player with the most votes will be eliminated from the game.Eliminated players are not silent. All eliminated players form the Jury of the Dead. They can have their say in discussions and, collectively, hold one shared vote in the proceedings.Throughout the game, players will also take part in challenges. These challenges will test your physical and mental skills alike. Successful challenges will add to the final prize pot, but they also provide opportunities to observe how others are behaving and to gather clues about who might be lying. If a Traitor makes it to the final, they take everything. If only Innocents remain, the prize is shared between them.Trust carefully. Choose wisely.
And try to stay alive.

The Venue

Most games of Murder! are played at our regular venue, The Actors. The Actors is a historic pub and theatre in the heart of Brighton and is said to be home to some real life ghosts.Drinks are available to purchase from the bar throughout the events held here. Please note that this is an 18+ venue.Accessibility notice: The theatre is accessed via a flight of stairs. Some challenges involve moving around both inside and outside the theatre, but we can adapt elements of the game to accommodate certain accessibility needs. We’re also actively looking to host accessible events at other venues in the future.
